Just who the heck am I?
I’m Erik, an Okinawan-American born and raised in Long Beach, California.
My interests include marine life (my favorite animal is the octopus), cartography, ancient history (I’m particularly interested in Southeast Asia), fashion, and bodysurfing (hmu if you want to hit the beach!). All of them have shaped my development and relationship with language in a multitude of ways.
When I originally set out on my journey into the working world, I initially wanted to become a marine biologist, then considered being a product designer, before finally deciding on copywriting as my area of expertise. Perhaps one day I’ll be writing about the undersea fashions that I designed, but for now I think I’ll stick to writing ads.
